The Port Dover to Brantford Rail Trail is a total of 50km’s one way and travels on the L.E. & N (Lake Erie & Northern Railway) Trail.
Parking is free at Silver Lake on Bridge Alley in Port Dover. It starts at Lynn Valley Trail (where the Trail Head and Map is) and continues on to the Waterford Heritage Trail.
The trail is flat, hard crushed gravel and there are some paved spots which goes through Simcoe, Delhi, and Waterford if you want to stop for a bite or nature calls. But we did find a porta-potty along the way and several garbage’s. The trail is mostly covered with mature trees which made it nice on a hot day.
For this trip we parked in Port Dover, rode to Waterford and rode back to Port Dover. It was 42k and the Perch at Port Dover was amazing afterwards. A quick dip in the beautiful Lake Erie is always refreshing.
It is very easy to navigate as there are signs along the way. Note that the trail does incline from Port Dover to Brantford.
