Part 2 – Our arrival to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada
We booked our rooms on Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise website. Received a spectacular lake view and $100 adventure discount per day which we definitely took advantage of. Parking was simple and close. Elevator was within a few steps to the main lobby. We received a coupon for 15% off ice skate, snowshoe and ski rentals. Great deal!
Here’s an idea of how much snow there is…

There were 2 separate ice skating rinks, an outdoor bar, hiking / snowshoe trails around the lake and ice sculptures.

Ice sculptures were melting a little and pieces were starting to break off but they are still beautiful.
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise would be a great venue for a wedding, any type of event or conference, with views of the lake. Here are some photos of the inside as we took a leisure stroll on a quiet morning.
They plowed parts of the lake for walkers and hikers and made tracks for cross country skiers. No need for cleats as the snow had good traction. This round trip was 5.56 km’s.

We took a sleigh ride out from the Chateau and asked if we can jump off and walk back. It was a beautiful day and we wanted to relax and take in the views.

Here are pictures from our walk back to the Chateau. You can also see Lake Louise Ski Resort in the background.
Around the Chateau there are a lot more hiking trails.

I hope you will continue to join us on our adventure in Part 3 where we visit Johnston Canyon Hiking Trail.
