Looking for a place to ride that has a diverse single track trail system for mountain biking or hiking? Visit Turkey Point trails in Norfolk County, Ontario.
These trails are FUN, FLOWY, with some technical features from beginner to advance. The best part when you’re finished and need to cool off, visit Lake Erie for a swim or drive about 1/2 hour to Port Dover to indulge in the best Lake Erie Perch in Ontario.
The Turkey Point Mountain Bike MTB Club maintains these trails – and they do a fantastic job!
The trails are mostly sand, so after a rainfall, they will quickly dry. There are lots of beginner trails and gnarly ones for the double diamond dare devils.
When you’re driving down Turkey Point Road, you will see one of the parking lots with a large sign – Normandale Fish Culture Station. There are about 10 parking spots here.
The next set of pictures are views from the parking lot. There are several directions to go – into the forest across form the parking lot, to the right, or straight down Charlotteville Road 2, which turns into Concession Road 2, for about 1 km and you will see several different entrances into the forest.
Here are some more photos of the trails.
The signage is ok. There were a few intersections with no signs at all so I would recommend taking a picture of the map. Then you can figure out where you are using our own GPS app. We use AllTrails…
Not much elevation here…
When you’re on The Turkey Point Mountain Bike Club’s website, take a look at their events calendar. They have lots going on including their L.O.S.T. Rides – Ladies On Single Track. They are also accepting donations which is a great way to keep the trails managed for all to enjoy.
Cheers – and remember – rubber side down! 🙂
